UK Banks ‘Prepared’ for Mythos Risk, Industry Group Says

Major UK financial institutions including the Bank of England have concluded they are “prepared” for emerging cybersecurity risk stemming from developments in artificial intelligence, after holding a meeting to discuss the impact of Anthropic PBC’s Mythos model.

A group convened by the BOE said it had reflected on the challenges posed by emerging “frontier AI” models in a meeting on Wednesday. The financial services industry is prepared for these developments and broader risks as well as “opportunities for growth and efficiency that they bring,” according to a statement from the BOE’s Cross Market Operational Resilience Group.
