UBS Venture With Banco do Brasil Names Daniel Bassan CEO (1)

UBS Group AG and Banco do Brasil SA named Daniel Bassan chief executive officer of UBS BB Investment Bank, the companies’ South America investment-banking and brokerage joint venture.

Bassan was head of global banking for UBS in Brazil since November 2016 and will have the same position at the venture, according to the banks. He joined the Swiss firm in March 2016, after holding posts at Credit Suisse Group AG and Banco BTG Pactual SA. Helio Magalhaes, chairman of Banco do Brasil and a Citigroup Inc.’s former CEO for Brazil, will be chairman of the new venture.
