UBS CEO Ermotti Steps Up Campaign Against Swiss Capital Plans

UBS Group AG Chief Executive Officer Sergio Ermotti ramped up his criticism of government plans to put more onerous capital requirements on the lender, which analysts say could dent payout plans.

“We are in the midst of an intense and often superficial debate over whether UBS is too big for Switzerland,” Ermotti said in a prepared speech at Zurich University on Wednesday. “Facts, not opportunistic or populist calls that attract headlines, must guide the debate on the future of Swiss finance.”
