Trump’s CFPB Plans to Request More Funding Ahead of April Cliff

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau plans to request more money to keep operating past March 31, a Justice Department lawyer told a federal judge who was skeptical of the Trump administration’s repeated efforts to starve the agency.

Acting CFPB Director Russell Vought will seek funding from the Federal Reserve for at least the next quarter and the request won’t be for “zero dollars,” the DOJ’s Charles Roberts said at a Thursday hearing in the US District Court for the District of Oregon.
