Subprime Lender Goeasy Taps Ex-Scotiabank Banker Dan Rees as CEO

Goeasy Ltd. hired former Bank of Nova Scotia executive Dan Rees as its new chief executive officer.

Rees is joining Goeasy on Monday, the Canadian alternative lender said in a statement, and will take over as CEO in May after a transition period.

He spent more than two decades at Scotiabank and ran its domestic retail banking business before his departure in 2023. Rees was seen as a potential CEO contender before the lender selected banking outsider and board director Scott Thomson for the role.
