Stuart Levenbach, Trump’s CFPB Choice, Is Now Chief Statistician

Stuart Levenbach, an official within the White House Office of Management and Budget whom President Donald Trump nominated to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, has assumed the role of US chief statistician.

Levenbach is now listed on an OMB website as chair of the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy, which is held by the chief statistician. An OMB official also confirmed he’s serving in the position.

The chief statistician is responsible for coordinating activities across the US statistical system, which spans 16 agencies and units and about 100 federal statistical programs. Among those are the Bureau of ...
