Stablecoin Yield Deadlock Persists in White House Crypto Talks

White House-led negotiations over crypto market-structure legislation will continue after Monday’s meeting ended with no agreement on how to handle the contentious issue of stablecoin yield.

The meeting at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building brought together crypto industry groups and representatives from companies like crypto exchange Coinbase Global Inc., as well as banking trade groups and policy staff in an effort to work through a key point of disagreement in the bill.

The issue being considered is whether crypto exchanges and other parties should be able to offer users yield or rewards on stablecoins held on their platforms.
