Spanish Regulator Delays Meeting on BBVA Bid Due to Blackout

Spain’s antitrust watchdog CNMC has delayed the meeting at which it could have decided on BBVA SA’s bid to buy Banco Sabadell SA after a massive blackout hit the country, according to a spokesperson for the agency.

Most of Spain and all of Portugal were hit by a major outage on Monday that impacted public transport, airports and phone service. Authorities have been scrambling to find the causes for one of the worst blackouts in Europe in years.
