Senate GOP Tees Up Vote on Kraninger to Lead CFPB

Kathleen Kraninger is getting closer to leading the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) moved Nov. 15 to begin debate on her nomination.

A cloture vote is expected to come the week of Nov. 26, but the Senate will first take up four other nominees before she is considered, McConnell’s spokesman David Popp told reporters Nov. 15. After the cloture vote is taken, the Senate will have up to 30 hours of debate on her nomination.
