Twelve Senate Democrats ask the Internal Revenue Service to explain why it has failed to audit hundreds of thousands of high-income individuals who haven’t paid their taxes.

Ron Wyden , asks IRS CommissionerChuck Rettig to respond to a watchdog report that said IRS has failed to collect $47.5 billion from high-income people - “We have raised concerns with you in the past about declining audit rates on high income individuals and corporations,” the letter says
