Rocket Mortgage LLC must face claims that it committed fraud and violated consumer protections when it terminated a mortgage refinancing application, a federal court said.

Two married couples who co-owned a North Carolina property sued Rocket Mortgage alleging the company terminated their refinancing application at the last minute but invited them to reapply after interest rates had risen.

The couples alleged breach of contract, negligence, fraud, and violations of federal and Pennsylvania consumer protection laws.
