PACE Loan Industry Targets CFPB Disclosure Rule in New Lawsuit

A trade group for private administrators of loans aimed at making homes more energy-efficient or prepared for disasters sued to block a Biden-era rule requiring them to provide the same disclosures as mortgage lenders.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s rule goes beyond Congress’ instructions to tailor disclosure requirements for Property Assessed Clean Energy loans, Building Resilient Infrastructure & Developing Greater Equity Inc. said in a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
