NatWest Pleads Guilty to Manipulation of U.S. Treasury Markets

NatWest Group Plc’s investment bank pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of securities fraud in connection with a criminal information filed Tuesday in the District of Connecticut, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement.

NatWest Markets Plc agreed to pay around $35 million in fines as part of a punishment that included a three-year probation and the imposition of an independent compliance monitor. The fines are fully covered by existing provisions, NatWest said in a separate statement.
