N.Y. Wants Fresh Look at Crypto Licensing Requirements

New York’s financial services regulator is taking another look at its requirements for granting virtual currency companies a much-coveted BitLicense, enabling them to operate in the nation’s financial hub.

“The regulations are working well, but we want to hear from industry about how they’re operating in practicality for industry and if there are any tweaks that we should make,” New York Department of Financial Services Superintendent Linda Lacewell told reporters after an Oct. 22 speech at the Georgetown Law School’s D.C. Fintech Week conference.
