Morgan Stanley Vice Chairman Shelley O’Connor Plans to Retire

Shelley O’Connor, a Morgan Stanley vice chairman and head of external affairs, plans to retire after almost four decades with the firm.

O’Connor, who joined Morgan Stanley in 1984, has held various leadership roles at the New York-based company, including chief administrative officer and co-head of wealth management. O’Connor, 61, a member of the bank’s operating committee since 2014, will step down from the external-affairs role on July 1 and remain vice chairman until the end of the year to help with the transition, Chief Executive Officer James Gorman said in a memo to staff.
