Lula Chooses Tarciana Medeiros as Banco do Brasil’s Next CEO

President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva chose two women, Tarciana Medeiros and Rita Serrano, to head the public banks Banco do Brasil and Caixa Economica Federal, the Finance Ministry said in a statement sent via text message.

• The names were later confirmed by Lula’s staff
• The next two CEO’s were already employees at the banks
• Medeiros has been with Banco do Brasil for 22 years and her last position was as an executive in the customer relationship office where she was responsible for defining and coordinating the commercial strategy
