Goldman Sachs Appoints Tom Montag, Former BofA COO, to Its Board

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. appointed veteran banker Tom Montag to its board, tapping a prominent alum for oversight at a time when discontent among the firm’s ranks has attracted public attention.

The Goldman board added Montag, 66, following a recommendation last month by its corporate governance and nominating committee, effective July 17, the New York-based bank said in a statement Thursday. Montag also will join the board’s audit, governance and risk committees.
