Goldman Rehires Former Fed Dallas Chief Rob Kaplan After Probe

The former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is returning to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. after a trading investigation marred his stint at the central bank.

Rob Kaplan, who spent more than 20 years at Goldman, will rejoin as a vice chairman and member of the firm’s management committee, the New York-based company said in a statement Tuesday. The firm, which often hires former regulators and government officials, said that Kaplan will provide strategic advice to teams across its investment bank as well as its money-management unit.
