Goldman CEO Slammed by Two Lawmakers for Standing by Top Lawyer

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s chief executive officer is facing fresh scrutiny over his decision to stand by the bank’s top lawyer after the US Justice Department released years of her emails with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

David Solomon’s decision to keep Kathryn Ruemmler at the bank once she steps down as its general counsel “calls into question” the CEO’s “professional judgement and fitness to continue leading one of the largest banks in the United States,” Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, both Democrats, wrote in a letter to the executive seen by Bloomberg News.
