Goldman Analysts Zero In on Cybersecurity Risks Facing ESG Funds

The kinds of assets ESG investors like to hold often have one thing in common: they’re increasingly exposed to cybersecurity risks, according to analysts at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

“We went down the list of these different technologies that need to be deployed to meet goals like infrastructure, clean water and net zero, and a majority of them need reliable networks,” said Brian Singer, an analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York. “If we don’t have reliable networks then we don’t have copper, aluminum let alone semiconductors and electricity transmission.”
