Freddie Mac Escapes Nationstar Mortgage Junk Fee Class Action

Freddie Mac won its bid to dodge a proposed class action against Nationstar Mortgage LLC over $25 “payoff fees.”

Plaintiffs suing Nationstar over the alleged “junk fees” had sought to include Freddie Mac as a defendant for home loans that the federal mortgage company purchased. Freddie Mac ignored and effectively ratified the fees Nationstar charged homeowners for documentation showing how much they owed on their mortgages, the suit alleged.
