Former Credit Suisse Banker Pleads Guilty in Money-Launder Scam

Former Credit Suisse Group AG banker Surjan Singh pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering in a kickbacks scam that involved as much as $2 billion in loans to Mozambique state-owned companies.

Singh, who entered his plea Sept. 6 in federal court in Brooklyn, is the latest to plead guilty in the case, of six people charged. The U.S. dropped three other charges against him: wire fraud conspiracy, securities fraud conspiracy and a scheme to violate U.S. anti-bribery laws.
