First Horizon, TD Reshuffle Legal Leadership After Failed Merger

Key legal positions are changing hands at First Horizon Corp. and Toronto-Dominion Bank, the latest executive shakeup in the wake of the two lenders’ failed $13.4 billion merger, which foundered last year amid opposition from US regulators.

Charles Tuggle Jr., who has spent 16 years at First Horizon and its predecessors, will retire as the regional bank’s general counsel next year. Succeeding him as First Horizon’s general counsel as of Jan. 1 will be Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz partner Lang Wiseman, whose addition the Memphis-based company announced Tuesday.
