Fed’s Rosengren Sees Risks on Both Sides of Inflation Outlook

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Eric Rosengren said policy makers should be “pretty humble” about their level of confidence on inflation and said there are risks to both overshooting or undershooting the 2% target.

“In the post war period we don’t have a pandemic experience with a new monetary policy framework with very aggressive fiscal policy all happening at the same time,” he told Bloomberg News in an interview Monday. “We have to be pretty humble about how confident we are about what the inflation outcomes are going to be.”
