Fed Approves United Bankshares Bid to Buy Piedmont Bancorp

The Federal Reserve approved United Bankshares Inc.’s application to acquire Piedmont Bancorp Inc., according to a statement.

  • Fed also gave its approval for United Bank to merge with Piedmont Bank and operate branches at Piedmont Bank locations
  • NOTE: United Bankshares to Buy Piedmont in Deal Valued at $267m
