Experian Loses Bid to Shake Old Claims Over Consumer Disputes

An Experian Plc unit will have to face Biden-era Consumer Financial Protection Bureau claims that the credit reporting giant failed to verify the accuracy of consumer data provided by companies over a three-year period.

The CFPB was able to prove that a tolling agreement with US holding company Experian Holdings Inc. was intended to apply to Experian Information Solutions Inc., the unit the agency says failed to verify company-submitted consumer information, Judge Michelle Williams Court of the US District Court for the Central District of California ruled Wednesday.

Experian and the CFPB didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
