Ex-Third Point Partner Sues Executive for Calling Her ‘Criminal’

An ex-partner at Dan Loeb’s Third Point LLC sued the former chief executive officer of the hedge fund’s affiliated reinsurance company for allegedly describing her as a “criminal” to two executives at a financial technology startup.

Keri Findley filed a defamation suit Thursday against former Third Point Re CEO James Robert Bredhal in Manhattan federal court. She claims Bredhal told executives at now-defunct GloriFi during a February 2022 dinner that she “mismarked her book” at Third Point and committed fraud that forced him to restate earnings at the reinsurer.
