Ex-Privacy Board Members Sue Trump, Demand Their Jobs Back (1)

Two Democrats fired by President Donald Trump from the top privacy oversight watchdog on US intelligence operations sued the president Monday, asking a judge for reinstatement.

Former Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board commissioners Ed Felten and Travis LeBlanc claim their termination in January was without cause and violated the 2007 9/11 Commission Act, which requires the oversight body to be nonpartisan and independent.

Trump’s firings “strike at the heart of the separation of powers,” the complaint, filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, said.
