Ex-Judge Gets 15 Months for Obstructing Credit Union Probe (2)

A former judge who sat on the board of New York state’s oldest credit union was sentenced to 15 months in prison for obstructing a federal investigation.

Sylvia Ash, a former state judge in Brooklyn, was convicted in December in a scheme to interfere with a corruption probe of the Municipal Credit Union -- one of the largest credit unions in the U.S. -- where she had served as a director and chairwoman. Ash, 64, was presiding judge in the court’s commercial division, which hears complex business disputes.
