A former senior adviser to the Federal Reserve was acquitted of a charge that he conspired to steal confidential information, including briefing books for Fed governors, to give to Chinese intelligence agents.
John Harold Rogers was found not guilty on that count Tuesday after a trial in Washington federal court. He was convicted on a less serious charge of making a false statement to federal investigators.
