DWS Sustainability Officer Let Go After Just Six Months in Role

Deutsche Bank AG’s asset-management unit has dismissed its group sustainability officer after just six months, suggesting progress was too slow.

Desiree Fixler, who took up the newly created role at DWS Group in September, will leave next month, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg. Her responsibility for sustainable investments will be taken by Chief Executive Officer Asoka Woehrmann.

“While progress has been made, the Executive Board has taken the position that the firm needs to gain even more traction in this space,” according to the memo, which was sent to staff on Wednesday.
