Dimon Talks Economy and Federal Reserve With Senate Republicans

Jamie Dimon made a surprise visit to the US Capitol on Wednesday, where he discussed economic growth and the Federal Reserve with Senate Republicans just as the central bank was preparing to release its latest rate decision.

The chief executive of JPMorgan Chase & Co. told reporters after the meeting that he isn’t worried about the independence of the Fed, which has become a target for President Donald Trump.

“The Fed should be independent. I heard the president say the Fed should be independent, so I’m not that concerned about it,” he said.
