Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook said a ruling in favor of Harvard University this week in its funding battle with the US backs her argument that President Donald Trump’s attempt to fire her over alleged mortgage fraud is a pretext cloaking an ulterior motive.

In a court filing late Thursday, Cook compared the lawsuit she filed to prevent her ouster by the president to Harvard’s suit challenging the freezing of more than $2 billion in research funding.
