ConocoPhillips Alaska’s Willow oil project took a final step toward approval Thursday with the Bureau of Land Management’s publication of the final environmental review for the development.
The company plans to produce up to 590 million barrels of oil through at least 2050 as part of the Willow Master Development Plan for the eastern edge of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska on the Arctic Ocean coastal plain, according to the land bureau.
The land bureau is giving the public 30 days to comment on the final plan.
