A key federal banking regulator released a series of actions aimed at easing supervision of community banks as the Trump administration seeks to roll back oversight of financial institutions.
Agency supervisors will be able to tailor their exams of small banks to spare the lenders from the same requirements as their larger competitors, according to guidance announced Monday by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which oversees national banks.
