Citizens Must Face CFPB Credit Card Lawsuit, Court Says

Citizens Financial Group Inc. lost its bid to shake a CFPB lawsuit that says the bank didn’t do enough to protect customers from alleged unauthorized use of their credit cards.

Judge William E. Smith of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island on Wednesday denied Citizens’ motion to dismiss the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s lawsuit, after finding that the agency’s claims weren’t filed too late as the bank had alleged.
