Citigroup Expands Trans ‘Chosen Name’ Policy to US Debit Cards

Citigroup Inc. said US retail account holders can now use their chosen first name on debit cards without a legal name change, expanding a policy that supports trans and non-binary customers.

The bank launched a similar project for credit cards with Mastercard Inc. in October 2020, which has since been used by more than 31,000 people, according to an emailed statement.
