Citadel Says Shatz Stole Secrets to Build Marshall Wace Team

Citadel accused former portfolio manager Daniel Shatz, now Marshall Wace’s global credit head, of “shamelessly violating” employment agreements and stealing confidential information to build a team for a rival.

Ken Griffin’s firm detailed its allegations Tuesday in court papers, responding to a petition Marshall Wace filed last week in New York state court. The UK hedge fund is asking a judge to throw out Citadel’s subpoenas demanding information about its recruitment of Shatz.
