The National Treasury Employees Union and co-plaintiffs are asking a full federal appeals court to review a three-judge panel’s decision that cleared the way for the Trump administration to fire most employees at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Last month’s ruling departs from decades of precedent that will “render the judiciary incapable of enforcing bedrock separation-of-powers principles when the need for enforcement is at its zenith,” the union said in a petition for rehearing en banc filed Monday in the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
