A federal judge said the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s lawsuit against online lender SoLo Funds Inc. can move forward despite acting Director Scott Bessent’s order freezing all litigation.
The CFPB didn’t show why pausing the case was necessary while it decides whether to proceed, Judge R. Gary Klausner of the US District Court for the Central District of California said in a Wednesday order entered in the case docket.
