The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is dismissing cases against an installment lender and a student loan servicer as it closes out a pile of Biden-era enforcement lawsuits.
The CFPB sued Heights Finance Holding Co. in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina in August 2023, alleging it pushed consumers into refinancing programs they couldn’t afford. The company is part of Attain Finance, which was known as Curo Group Holdings until earlier this month.
