Brazil Top Court Keeps Banco Master’s Ex-CEO in Jail For Now (1)

A majority of Brazil’s Supreme Court justices have voted to keep Daniel Vorcaro in prison, maintaining pressure on Banco Master SA’s former chief executive officer to pursue a plea bargain that has unsettled the country’s political and judicial elite.

The court’s Second Chamber rejected on Friday a request from Vorcaro’s defense for his release. Voting is ongoing and the justices have until March 20 to cast their ballots electronically.
