Bessent Sees Path to Warsh Hearing as Tillis Vows to Block Vote

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he expects President Donald Trump’s nominee for Federal Reserve chair to get a hearing, despite Republican Senator Thom Tillis holding firm in his vow to block any vote.

Bessent said on CNBC Friday that he met with a group of GOP senators on Tuesday, and that an agreement had been reached to hold a hearing on former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh’snomination to lead the central bank.
