Bessent Emphasizes Economic Growth in Bid to Ease Regulation (1)

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he would continue his campaign to reduce financial regulations, highlighting the Trump administration’s effort to bolster economic security amid concerns over persistent inflation and affordability.

“Economic growth is critical to financial stability,” Bessent said in a letter accompanying the 2025 annual report for the Financial Stability Oversight Council, a regulatory body created in response to the 2008 financial crisis.
