Beheaded Journalist’s Family Can Sue Qatar Bank Over ISIS Funds

Qatar National Bank and Qatar Charity must face a lawsuit brought by the family of Steven Sotloff, the American journalist beheaded by members of the Islamic State group in 2014, a Florida federal court ruled.

Both Sotloff and another American journalist, James Foley, were held hostage, tortured, and killed by members of the terrorist organization after being captured while covering the Syrian civil war. ISIS published videos of their executions online directed at US government officials, wherein the men were forced to kneel and recite statements denouncing the United States.
