Bankers to Get Deferred Bonuses Sooner as UK Speeds Reforms (1)

The amount of time that senior UK bankers must now wait before receiving their bonus is being cut in half to four years, part of a push by regulators to boost the City of London’s competitiveness.

The new UK rules shortening the deferral period for top bankers’ bonuses will also apply to 2025 payouts, the Bank of England and Financial Conduct Authority said on Wednesday, speeding up the original time-frame after industry petitions.
