Banker Who Earned More Than Dimon Joins Mercuria With Board Seat

Mercuria Energy Group Ltd. has hired former Macquarie Group Ltd. commodities head Nick O’Kane — famously one of the world’s best paid bankers — as its new global head of gas and power.

O’Kane, who out-earned bank bosses including Jamie Dimon with a $37.6 million pay package in 2023, has joined the commodity trading house as an executive vice president and will also sit on Mercuria’s board, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg News.
