Bank of America to Face Class Claims in Pandemic-Era Fee Case

Bank of America Corp. customers in California and New Jersey alleging the bank made false promises about pandemic-era fee relief can pursue their claims as a class, a federal judge ruled.

In a Tuesday order in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said the plaintiffs had met the bar for class certification for Bank of America customers in the two states who were charged overdraft or insufficient funds fees from September 2020 through June 2022.
