Bank of America Merrill Lynch is lining up to be this year’s biggest winner from the flurry of public listing successes.
The bank is the top underwriter of U.S. initial public offerings in 2019, according to Bloomberg league tables. Its deals are also the biggest beneficiaries of a recent popping phenomenon, in which dozens of IPOs surged during their debuts. Of the 29 IPO that posted a first day gain of 30% or more this year, BofA was an underwriter on more than half of them. That’s the most of any bank tracked by Bloomberg’s league tables.
