Banca Generali Wins Legal Bid to See Problem Loan Documents

A London judge has ruled Banca Generali SpA should have access to underlying documents behind 344 million euros ($358 million) worth of securitizations it sold to its clients.

The Italian wealth manager asked a court to compel CFE Finance, from which it purchased emerging-market credit securitizations, to provide it with documents relating to the underlying assets at a hearing last month. Banca Generali said that CFE had previously changed the information it provided about the assets, and wanted to see the documents for itself to price the notes.
